Just like in years past, my sister in-law and I came together to lovingly create a birthday cake for my niece. This time around, we made this super cute Winnie the Pooh bear cake and Honey Bee Cupcakes!
This cake was a little less involved than some of the cakes we’ve attempted, but I still love it, and the birthday girl did too. 🙂
The cake was the same wonderful chocolate cake that has quickly become my go-to, and we frosted it with my cake instructor Fran’s reliable decorator’s buttercream tinted a soft seafom green.
To decorate, we created a fondant Winnie the Pooh figure using a fabulous tutorial from Lynlees, and used the same icing to pipe drop flowers (1M and 4B tips) in pink and purple, and grass (#233 tip) in bright green. To tie it all together we added a few of the extra bumble bees from the cupcakes. Quick, but adorable! 😀
For decor, my MIL did an incredible job with an 100 Acre Wood garden themed decor, complete with signage, and used a classic wicker picnic basket as a simple cake stand.
