Pfeffernüsse Cookies
Ingredients
- 4 1/2 cups ultragrain flour
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg (ground)
- 3/4 teaspoons pepper (black or white, ground)
- 2 teaspoons anise seed (ground or whole, depending on preference)
- 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cloves (ground)
- 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon (ground)
- 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 2 cups dark brown sugar (packed)
- 5 eggs (large)
Directions
Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl, then add sugar and eggs. Mix until combined, then let sit until dough moistens. Roll into balls about the size of a walnut and place onto a lined (silpat works great) or greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes. Store in an airtight container. | |
