The cupcake version of my niece‘s baptism cake are basically the cake in easy mode – they’re just as cute, with the same little flowers, but by skipping the torting and filling of a full cake, you can shave hours off of your assembly time. Much like the cake, these are some of the easiest cupcakes I’ve ever decorated, but they’re still so adorable!
The process on these was simple – I mixed up a batch of basic cupcake batter (you could definitely use boxed – no judgement here!) tinted it bright pink, and slightly overfilled the liners so there’d be a nice pink dome to decorate on top of. Once the cupcakes were cooled, I piped a swirl of pink tinted buttercream on top using a large star tip (Ateco 829) and added fondant flowers and crosses. I created the flowers by cutting out tinted fondant with a tiny Wilton flower cutter, then shaping it with a small fondant ball tool, and adding a small pearl dragee to the center – super easy!
If you were to omit the crosses these would also be adorable for a birthday. Perhaps you could also add eggs or bunnies for an Easter motif!
